Air-France was founded on August 31, 1933 by the fusion of 4 principal companies of French air transport: Air the East, Air Union, the C.I.D.N.A. and the Farman lines, in the form of a public limit company with the capital of 120 franc million in which the State held at least 25% of the actions and would be represented with the board of directors in the same proportions.
